    The Mission of Global REACH is to facilitate health research, education, and collaboration among learners and faculty with our global partners to reduce health disparities for the benefit of communities worldwide. We are focused on five key goals:

    1. To enable students, trainees and faculty to develop components of their career that address sustainable approaches to improving global health

    2. To create partnerships that allow our medical school community to collaborate synergistically to improve global health

    3. To advance education and research in global health, particularly on the 'science of collaboration'

    4. To cultivate a community of educators and scholars committed to improvements in global health.

    5. To demonstrate the value of global health initiatives to the medical school, university, and the communities we serve.

    The Program Manager will assist the Director for Asia Programs in advancing Global REACH's emerging and ongoing initiatives in Asia that provide training and development opportunities for learners and faculty in the medical school. The University of Michigan Medical School has a long history of collaboration with partners, both at the individual and institutional level. These partnerships provide unique opportunities for our learners to observe and learn about healthcare delivery in a system that is vastly different from our own US healthcare system, and allow our faculty to collaborate with scientists to address health concerns that are critical to patient populations in both the US and Asia. Working under the direction of our Director of Asia Programs, this individual will support efforts to design and develop these important relationships and programs, including support of our Joint Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, Global Executive Education programs, visiting scholarship programs, and research training programs. This vital position offers unique opportunities to work with students, faculty and staff across the medical school, as well as to interact with visiting national and international dignitaries.

    Responsibilities*
    Working under the direction of the Director for Asia Programs, this individual will develop, plan and coordinate all administrative and logistical aspects of the Executive Education Program. Specific responsibilities include:

    Manage the delivery of an Executive Education Program to 3-6 cohorts of international learners per year
    Design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance in connection with our educational exchange programs with several partner institutions in Asia
    Assess training needs through surveys and interviews with instructors (mentors) and trainees (mentees) on an on an annual basis
    Work with Program Directors to facilitate evaluation of applicant pool and interview and select trainees for UM training programs
    Select and assign instructors to conduct training
    Coordinate recruitment and placement of training program participants
    Facilitate orientation for trainees into UM faculty members' labs
    Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities, program effectiveness, and trainee progress and make recommendations for program improvements to Global REACH leadership and partner institutions based on the data collected
    Represent Asia Program Director through attending meetings or seminars to inform management, UM community, and international partners of training program status, as needed
    Support other Global REACH initiatives as needed. This may include representing the Asia Program Director to UM community and international partners, supporting other student training exchanges, staffing training events, participating in quality improvement efforts, etc.
    Required Qualifications*
    Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience
    Fluency with written and verbal Mandarin language
    Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills
    Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and partner institutions from many different backgrounds; demonstrated commitment to diversity
    Desired Qualifications*
    Master's degree in public health, business administration, or higher education
    Previous experience in global health
    Previous experience in higher education
    Previous experience managing educational programs
    Knowledge of University of Michigan practices, rules and regulations
