N.Y.U. Revises Policy on Standardized Tests

New York University has become the latest school to rethink its standardized-testing requirements.

Under the new policy, all freshman applicants will still have to submit some test scores — but they will have more choice about which ones they want to provide.

Starting with students entering as freshmen in September of 2010, N.Y.U. will offer a menu of options. Among them is the current requirement of the SAT plus two subject tests, or the ACT. The new options include three SAT subject tests....
