Brown to sell 14 houses to faculty, staff

Brown University will sell 14 houses it owns on the East Side over the next five years, as it shrinks its holdings in the neighborhood — and, in the process, returns property to the city tax rolls.

The university has sold five other houses as part of an effort dubbed the Brown to Brown Ownership Program. The program is designed to encourage home ownership by faculty and staff adjacent to campus, and to return those properties to owner-occupied, tax-paying status.
